Ava(Yikun) Xu (b. 1998, Chengdu) lives and works in Boston, MA and Queens, NY. She had her BFA at Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA at Massachusetts College of Art and Design.

Ava’s work explores her relationships to others and to the world. Having a bi cultural background, Ava talks about the intersections of culture, sexuality, and personal identity, particularly through the lens of food symbolism. Her work critically engages with the nuanced and complex relationships that individuals, especially women, have with food and consumption, layered with socio-cultural contexts and personal experiences.
